Short Description: Left aileron (21-08)
|
More work on the ailerons. I rivetted the nose skin on, which was a little interesting. The instructions have you cleco everything together to make sure it all lays flat, then you take it all apart and rivet the counterweight and nose ribs to the nose skin…but without the spar, so the nose skin is all distorted with nothing holding it in place. The spar needs to be off so you can set the rivets on the nose ribs. Well, all that is done now I have attached the top skin to the spar and nose skin. I used some scrap j-channel with some clamps to hold the skin flat. Next, I need to set some an470 (round head) rivets on the ends. One side has no space for the bucking bar, so I plan to try the long bar and see if that works. Then I can tackle the bottom skin.
